Hectic Films Launches IndieGoGo Campaign For ‘Naked Zombie Girl’ BAKERSFIELD, CA – Bakersfield-based film production company Hectic Films announces the launch of an IndieGoGo campaign for its latest short film project, “Naked Zombie Girl,” a Seventies’-style film tribute to such recent grindhouse films as “Planet Terror” (2007) and “Machete” (2010). “We recently finished up a successful IndieGoGo campaign for our short western, ‘Mable,’ which is in post-production,” Rickey Bird, owner of Hectic Films. “Now its time to see if our fans will help fund a zombie-genre short film that has lots of blood and skin.” In “Naked Zombie Girl,” two prostitutes and their friend, Tony, have just escaped a zombie attack in a 1971 Cadillac Fleetwood Broughman. Unfortunately, Tony has been bitten and is about to turn into a zombie. That’s all you really need to know other than star Meghan Chadeayne somehow loses her dress and goes on a maddening zombie- killing spree. The excitement of the film isn’t all in its naked heroine. Creepy master of special effects and makeup, Nick Reisinger, who has worked on the television show Grimm, as well as feature films such as The Lackey (2012), Jack The Reaper (2011), Delirium (2012) and Scary or Die (2012), has created prosthetics, body casts, and more for the production. “How do we creatively kill zombies in ‘Naked Zombie Girl’? Because of Nick’s expertise in gore and special effects,” says Bird. “We’re able to film Barbara (Meghan Chadeayne) on an incredible rampage against the zombie apocalypse because of what Nick allows us to do with chainsaw props and fake body parts.” Kern County film locations are being used in the project as well. “We shot the ending hallway scene at a chiropractor’s office downtown,” says First Assistant Director Rachel Montgomery. “The exteriors were shot overnight at Ethel’s Old Corral. We still have an additional one to two days of filming left. This Indiegogo campaign will help raise funds for it.” A website (www.nakedzombiegirlmovie.com) and Facebook page (www.facebook.com/nzgmovie) have been launched for the project. On the sites, you can see stills by Robert Bejil, whose photography studio is in association with the short film. “The zombies look disgusting, the prosthetics are insanely real, and the blood is nasty,” says Bejil. “I’m most excited to see people’s reactions. This is by far the best zombie related project I’ve done.” “My hope is to raise 10,000,” says Bird. “We still have a few days of filming left and this campaign will definitely help us finish the film. We’re lucky in the sense that we have such a talented cast and crew that are passionate enough to donate their time to this project, and I’d like to be able to compensate them for that as well.” Also in the works is a comic book of the film, animated by Mike Hampton. Horror film buffs and zombie fans can find the project on IndieGoGo.com by searching for “Hectic Films” or “Naked Zombie Girl.” “Naked Zombie Girl” Director: Rickey Bird Producers: Rickey Bird, Nick Reisinger, Rachel Montgomery First Assistant Director: Rachel Montgomery Director of Photography: Brent Peters Editor: Jason Sanders Special Effects and Makeup: Nick Reisinger Additional Makeup: Kelly Henderson, Heather Grippaldi Wardrobe: Kelly Henderson Still Photography: Robert Bejil Composer: Landen Belardes Other music: The Filthies A Hectic Films Production in Association with Robert Bejil Photography Starring: Meghan Chadeayne ("Barbara"/Naked Zombie Girl), Dt Carney ("Big Boss" Zombie, so to speak), Joshua Keith Mathews ("Tony"), Rickey Bird, Ali Dougherty ("Jill"), and at least 18 Zombies
